"Funky Ferndale Art Fair"
September 17-19
Ferndale, Michigan
9 Mile Rd. at Woodward
120 artists

"Twice as funky as the average fine art show". The Ferndale fair focuses on work that skews a little younger, a little hipper. While traditional artwork does sell here, this show focuses on less pastoral work. As many as 40,000 art shoppers attend over the weekend.

Ferndale's vibrant downtown attracts people in their 20's, 30's and 40's. It is a lively community with varied shopping and exciting clubs and restaurants. These people have the means to purchase items that appeal to them.

Kayte signed a recording contract with Silver Hill Records last year and the release of her first major album, "Born To Love You" is set for August 24th, 2010. Producer Jim Foster (formerly heading the prestigious Music Row Cosmic Mule Group) is a veteran producer and Grammy-nominated writer and publisher with an impressive track record including hits on Tim McGraw, Diamond Rio, Martina McBride, and Lonestar.

Kayte Strong is a singer, songwriter, keyboardist, guitarist, ukulele artist, arranger, producer, engineer, successful independent recording artist and feature writer. She has released fourteen albums in the past twelve years. Her independent label has been featured in Keyboard Magazine in the cover article titled "Blow Off The Record Industry" after she sold 200,000 recordings of her music at festivals and concerts around the United States by herself. She has released many albums under other names such as "Kayte Wolf", "Kayt E. Wolf" and "Strong & Bryon" (her instrumental compositions). One Christmas Album, "Serene Noel" reached #96 on the New Age Radio Charts in 2003.

As a backing vocalist and keyboardist in the nineties, Kayte Strong performed with some of the most successful artists of the fifties, sixties, and seventies before audiences as large as 25,000 people while a member of the "Crews Coalition Band" based in Los Angeles, California. Some of the artists she has performed with are:

Al Wilson, Chris Montez, Lisa Lynne, The Champs, The Superbs, The Coasters, The Platters, Mel Carter, Tommy Roe, The Originals, The Safaris, Frankie Ford, Jimmy Beaumont, The Fleetwoods, The Intruders, Rosie and the Originals, the Penguins, Jewel Aikens, Paul and Paula, Sly, Slick & Wicked, The Three Degrees, The Tymes, Eddie Holman, Brenton Wood, Barbara Mason, Dee Dee Sharp, Little Eva, Barbara Lewis, Guy Mitchell, Richard Berry, Gaynel Hodge, The Delphonics, Barbara Lynn, Peaches & Herb, MC Blvd, Brenda Holloway, Al DeLory, the Chris Cobb Band, Dennis Bryon (Amen Corner, Bee Gees) and Ilona (Poland).

She was then "discovered" and brought to Nashville in 1998 by Grammy award-winning producer Al DeLory (Glen Cambell, Beachboys) after singing only one song in a church in Nashville, Tennessee. The result was the highly successful album "Four Roses", which continues to sell strongly after its release over twelve years ago. With the release of "Four Roses", Kayte had to give up all of her other gigs and concentrate solely on her recording career.

Kayte Strong remains one of the most popular vocalists touring the craft and art festival circuit, with performances every weekend; 10,000 to 500,000 people are in attendance at each festival. Her touring partner Dennis Bryon was one of the musicians responsible for the incredible success enjoyed by the supergroup "BeeGees" in the seventies and eighties; Dennis was the drummer on such hits as "Staying Alive", and "You Should Be Dancin'".

As a solo act, Kayte has opened for Earth, Wind and Fire and The Friends of Distinction, and was on radio and television on the west coast as a commercial jingle singer. Her radio credits include performances on WSM ("The Opry Station"), WBMK in Bismarck, North Dakota, the CSA Country Jam in Laurel, Maryland, and National Public Radio (NPR). She has sung on HBO in one of their movies of the month (Widow's Kiss), a major motion picture starring Sylvester Stallone and Shelley Winters ("Touch Of A Stranger"), and performed as a keyboardist on the syndicated television shows "Eye on Hollywood" and "Cagney and Lacey". She became a published writer for the first time in the Billboard Books release "Tales From The Rock And Roll Highway" and had her song "Love On A Rainy Day" was featured in prime time on NBC on the series "Swingtown". She has written film cues and title music for video in "Erik Winalda, American Hero", and several nature documentaries including the early winter 2010 DVD release entitled "Birds Gone Wild" by Ken Burgener with music by Kayte.

Kayte is already in the planning stages for a tour starting in January 2011 and a follow-up album to "Born To Love You".
